Chapter 2: Stories on Found Wood
The oil paintings in this Chapter are painted upon pieces of found wood. Some canvases I was drawn to because of its thickness, layers of old paint, or the rough grain. For others, I approached the wood in a somewhat backwards manner; coming across on object first that would work as a frame (for a painting). It is here I cut the wood to fit. For both processes signs of a previous life and history are the foundation from which I begin.
