Chapter 3: Tiny Little Houses
I have been attracted to the surface that results from painting with the ancient medium of wax, encaustic.. In this Chapter you can see the direction I have explored as I combine wax with the other mediums I have worked with over the years...
My Tiny Little Houses are about the simplicity of the form combined with the complexity of the encaustic medium. We all can relate to the line drawings of our homes we created as children. And as we have grown through the years, we can relate to one another with how messy life can be as adults. Through this series I am exploring forms in their environments and striving to find the balance, the beauty, and the richness that is possible and found within it all.
Below are a few samples of my encaustic pieces. If you are interested in seeing
the full body of work in this chapter, please contact me.
